World Expo City project costs 50 billion yuan ($7.81 billion) from China Railway Group Limited (CREC), to serve as the permanent site of the East Asia Maritime Cooperation Platform. It has been included in the country's Belt and Road Initiative as an advanced project to facilitate maritime cooperation between China and other Asia countries in various fields. The venue has planned area over 3,000 MU and will have eight centers offering exhibition and meeting space, technology R&D, leisure resorts, shopping, cultural exchange facilities, and sports.
